This Week in Tampa Bay: NFL Draft Block Party, Beach Boys, and a Packed Pasco Saturday (April 21–27)

April closes out with one of the busiest weeks of the spring. There's a free street festival on Central Ave, country and pop-punk at Hard Rock, minor league baseball every night, and Saturday in Pasco County might be the most packed single day of the month. Here's what's worth your time.

Thursday Is the Big Night — Bucs NFL Draft Block Party (Free)

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are taking their annual Draft Party off campus and bringing it to Central Avenue in downtown St. Pete on Thursday, April 23, from 7:00–11:30 PM. The 200 block of Central gets shut down to traffic for a full street festival — live NFL Draft coverage (Round 1), fan activations, giveaways, and bar takeovers along the strip. It's free, it's outdoors, and it's the first time this event has moved to St. Pete.

If you haven't been to Central Ave on a big night, this is a good excuse. Bars run on both sides of the block, the energy gets loud when picks are announced, and you don't need a ticket to walk in.

Tuesday & Wednesday: Hard Rock Brings the Heat

Maren Morris kicks off the week at Seminole Hard Rock Tampa Event Center on Tuesday, April 21 at 8:00 PM. She's one of the strongest live performers in country music right now — good room, good sound.

Wednesday brings Boys Like Girls to the same venue at 7:00 PM — pop-punk nostalgia for anyone who remembers "The Great Escape" from middle school. Same night, Panchiko plays Jannus Live in St. Pete at 7:00 PM. If you're into shoegaze and indie, Panchiko is a genuinely weird and interesting act that earned a cult following from a deteriorating demo tape that went viral — worth seeing in the outdoor amphitheater setting.

Thursday Bonus: Led Zeppelin and Chris Tucker

Beyond the Draft Block Party, Thursday has two more reasons to go out:

Friday: New Port Richey's Fourth Friday — Derby Theme

The NPR Fourth Friday hits Sims Park and the downtown strip on Friday, April 24 starting at 6:00 PM. This month's theme is the Kentucky Derby — expect local vendors, live music, bar crawls, and the usual good-time vibe that New Port Richey's been building on these monthly events. It's free, it's walkable, and it's a solid neighborhood night out.

The Riverside Concert (Common Ground) runs concurrently at Sims Park along the Pithlachascotee — free outdoor music with the river behind you.

Saturday April 25: The Best Day in Pasco County This Month

If you're in Trinity or New Port Richey, don't make other plans Saturday. Three events are all running the same day:

Taste of Trinity 16 — 30+ local restaurants showing up to let you sample their best. This is one of those community events that's actually good every year. 7th Annual Spring Market at Starkey Market (3460 Starkey Blvd, Trinity, 11 AM) — local vendors, plants, crafts, and food. Free. Over 1,700 people have marked interest, so expect a real crowd. Inchstone Books Grand Opening (6440 Massachusetts Ave, New Port Richey, 10 AM) — a new independent bookstore opening in NPR with a sensory-friendly children's section. If you've wanted a good local bookshop in the area, this is it.

Round out the evening with Beyond the Prism (Pink Floyd tribute) at the Richey Suncoast Theatre at 5:00 PM.

Saturday in Pinellas: Taste of Indian Rocks Beach

Down in Pinellas, Taste of IRB takes over Chic-A-Si Park in Indian Rocks Beach on Saturday afternoon — 30+ local restaurants, craft beverages, live entertainment, steps from the Gulf. This is one of the best food events Pinellas puts on all year. Free or low cost to get in.

The Tampa Bay Rays also host the Minnesota Twins at Tropicana Field at 4:10 PM, and the Rowdies play Sarasota Paradise at Al Lang at 7:30 PM if you want waterfront soccer to cap your night.

---

Sunday: Beach Boys at Busch Gardens

Close out the week at Busch Gardens Tampa on Sunday, April 26 — The Beach Boys play the Gwazi Field stage at 6:00 PM as part of the ongoing Food, Wine & Garden Concert Series. Included with park admission, or you can grab a standalone concert ticket. Classic music, warm evening, outdoor venue.

Tampa Bay is always moving in April — if your business isn't showing up when people search for local things to do, you're missing traffic. A well-built website and some basic local SEO can change that. Let's talk.
