This Week in Tampa Bay: BTS, Riverfest, and the Start of May (April 28 – May 4)
This Week in Tampa Bay: BTS, Riverfest, and the Start of May (April 28 – May 4)
The last week of April closes out strong. BTS kicks things off at Raymond James on Tuesday, the 10th Annual Tampa Riverfest takes over the Riverwalk Friday and Saturday, and Busch Gardens keeps rolling on the weekends. Here's what's worth your time.
BTS – ARIRANG World Tour
Tuesday, April 28 | Raymond James Stadium, TampaTampa landed an extra date on BTS's 2026 world tour, and if you didn't grab tickets in January, good luck finding them at face value. Raymond James holds 65,000 people and this show has been sold out for months. If you're going, plan for massive traffic around Dale Mabry — give yourself at least 90 minutes and consider parking west of the stadium and walking. If you're not going but live nearby, expect noise and grid-lock.
10th Annual Tampa Riverfest
Friday, May 1 (5–10 PM) & Saturday, May 2 | Tampa Riverwalk (Curtis Hixon to Water Works Park)Free admission. This is one of Tampa's best annual events, and the 10th year looks like the biggest yet. The full Riverwalk turns into a festival spread with live music, TacoFest, a hot air balloon glow, a Lantern Parade, and the always-ridiculous Wiener Dog Derby. Saturday night headliner is Sixpence None the Richer — yes, that "Kiss Me" band — and they're still great live. There's also a new Kid Zone this year if you've got little ones.
No tickets, no wristbands. Just show up, walk the Riverwalk, eat tacos, and watch hot air balloons glow over the water. This is exactly what a Tampa night should look like.
Busch Gardens Food, Wine & Garden Festival
Saturdays & Sundays through May | Busch Gardens Tampa BayThe Food, Wine & Garden Festival is still running on weekends through the end of May. If you haven't made it yet, this is a good weekend to go — the crowds peak in March and thin out by May. The food booths rotate, so there's usually something new even if you've been before. Pair it with an evening show and you've got a full day.
Cinco de Mayo – Ybor City
Tuesday, May 5 | 7th Avenue, Ybor CityTechnically just outside this window, but worth flagging now because Tuesday night in Ybor will be packed. If you're going for Cinco, go early or go late — the 8–10 PM stretch on 7th Ave gets shoulder-to-shoulder. Plenty of spots running specials all week.
Also Worth Knowing This Week
- The Starkey Ranch Market runs Saturday mornings in Odessa if you're in Pasco County and want a low-key weekend option — local vendors, produce, food trucks.
- Clearwater Beach is in peak condition right now. Water temperatures are comfortable, the tourist season crowds haven't peaked yet, and parking is still manageable on weekday mornings. If you have a free morning this week, go.
May is stacking up fast. Enjoy the last few days of April — Tampa's about to get busier.
