This Week in Tampa Bay: Vince Gill, Juneteenth, and a World Cup Watch Party (June 19–25)

Summer in Tampa Bay doesn't take a breather, and this weekend is proof. Between a Juneteenth festival, two big concerts in Clearwater, and the World Cup bleeding into local bars and venues, there's no good reason to stay home. Here's what's worth knowing about.

Juneteenth Festival (June 19–20)

June 19 is Juneteenth, a federal holiday marking the end of slavery in the United States, and Tampa Bay has a full weekend of celebrations to honor it.

ROC the Block Inc. is putting on the Tampa Bay Juneteenth Festival across two locations: Top Golf Tampa on Friday and Raymond James Stadium on Saturday. Expect live music, local vendors, food, and cultural programming. It's a community event worth showing up for, whether you're attending for the first time or it's already a tradition.

If you're looking for additional events throughout the week, there are several community-organized gatherings across the bay, so check your local neighborhood pages and community boards.

Vince Gill at Ruth Eckerd Hall (Friday, June 19)

If you'd rather spend Friday night indoors with great guitar playing, Vince Gill is at Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater at 7:30 PM.

Gill is one of the most decorated musicians in country music, period. Twenty-one Grammy Awards. A Rock and Roll Hall of Famer. The guy can flat-out play guitar in a way that most artists spend a lifetime trying to replicate. These shows at Ruth Eckerd tend to feel more like a masterclass than a concert, and the venue itself is one of the best mid-size rooms in the state. Tickets are still available through AXS and StubHub.

Where: Ruth Eckerd Hall, 1111 McMullen Booth Rd, Clearwater When: Friday, June 19 at 7:30 PM

World Cup Watch Party at Jannus Live (Friday, June 19)

The 2026 FIFA World Cup is in the US this summer, and St. Pete's soccer community is showing up. Jannus Live is hosting a World Cup watch party on Friday, June 19 from 3–5 PM, complete with a 20-foot LED screen, CO2 cannons, goal effects, and live chants led by AO St. Pete.

It's $10 to get in, which is about as affordable as watch parties come. If you've been following the tournament at all, this is the kind of atmosphere that makes a big game feel like a real event. Check Jannus Live's social pages for match details as kickoff times can shift.

Where: Jannus Live, 16 2nd St N, St. Petersburg When: Friday, June 19, 3–5 PM | $10 cover

Billy Currington at The BayCare Sound (Saturday, June 20)

Clearwater gets another country act on Saturday when Billy Currington plays The BayCare Sound (Coachman Park) with special guests Kelsey Hart and Kenny Whitmire. Doors open at 5:30 PM and the show kicks off at 7:00 PM.

Currington's that guy who makes country music feel easy in the best way, "People Are Crazy," "Must Be Doin' Somethin' Right," "Don't It Make You Wanna Dance." He's a consistent live performer and The BayCare Sound is an excellent outdoor venue, especially when the summer weather cooperates. It's an all-ages show, tickets through AXS.

Where: The BayCare Sound at Coachman Park, Clearwater When: Saturday, June 20 | Doors 5:30 PM, Show 7:00 PM | All Ages
