This Week in Tampa Bay: June 24-30, 2026
June 24 marks the unofficial start of the biggest weekend of the summer for Pinellas County. St. Pete Pride goes full throttle Friday through Sunday, the U.S. Men's National Team kicks off World Cup group play midweek, and there's minor league baseball on a Tuesday if you want something chill on a school night. Plenty going on. Here's what to know.
St. Pete Pride Weekend: June 26-28Florida's largest Pride celebration closes out its month-long run with the main weekend event in downtown St. Petersburg. The theme this year is "Here Comes the Sun," which feels right for a late-June weekend in Pinellas.
The schedule breaks down like this: Friday night is the Waterfront Concert and Night Market, with sets from Chinchilla, Flyana Boss, and Cain Culto. It's ticketed, and if you're going, grab yours now since the waterfront venue fills up. Saturday is the Trans March followed by the full festival and parade through downtown. Sunday wraps with the Grand Central District Street Fair from noon to 5 p.m. That one is free and a little more low-key, but it tends to have good vendors and a great neighborhood feel.
The event draws well over 100,000 people to downtown St. Pete across the weekend. If you're driving in from Pasco or north Pinellas, expect significant road closures around Central Ave and Bayshore Drive on Saturday especially. Check the St. Pete Pride site at stpetepride.org for the full route and parking guidance.
This is also a big weekend for Central Ave businesses. If you're a shop owner or restaurant on or near the corridor and you're not running any promotions or updating your hours online, you're leaving foot traffic on the table.
World Cup Watch Party: Wednesday, June 25The 2026 FIFA World Cup is being played on home soil for the first time since 1994, and the USMNT's group stage is already in full swing. On Wednesday, June 25, the U.S. takes on Turkey in a must-watch Group Stage match at 8 p.m.
Ferg's Sports Bar on Central Ave in St. Pete is hosting a watch party from 8 to 10 p.m. It's the kind of rowdy, packed bar environment that makes international soccer worth watching even if you only loosely follow the sport. If you're going, get there early.
A lot of the sports bars around Ybor and downtown Tampa are running their own watch party nights throughout the group stage. Worth calling ahead if you have a preferred spot.
Clearwater Threshers at Home: June 25-27The Threshers are the Phillies' High-A affiliate and they're home at Bright House Networks Field in Clearwater Thursday through Saturday. First pitch each night is at 6:30 p.m.
This is the move if you want an inexpensive, no-stress night out this week. Tickets run cheap, parking is easy, and it's a real ballpark. The Threshers have had a decent season and the crowds have been good. Hard to find a better $15 evening in Pinellas County right now.
Flux Pavilion at The Ritz Ybor: Friday, June 26If the Pride festival isn't your scene but you still want to be out Friday night, Flux Pavilion plays The Ritz Ybor at 10 p.m. British dubstep and electronic music, intimate venue on 7th Ave. Tickets are around $47 on average with limited availability listed. Not a huge name to everyone, but he's got a solid following in the electronic scene and The Ritz is one of the better mid-size rooms in Tampa for that kind of show.
Coming Up: Liberty by the Bay (July 4)Not this week, but worth putting on the calendar now. Friends of the Tampa Riverwalk is hosting Liberty by the Bay on July 4 to celebrate America's 250th birthday. The event includes live entertainment, a boat parade, a 250-drone light show, and a fireworks finale. It's free and family-friendly along the Riverwalk. More details at thetampariverwalk.com.
That's the week. St. Pete Pride is the obvious anchor, but between the World Cup, the Threshers, and a solid Friday night show in Ybor, you could make a full week out of it without trying hard.
